What Do We Have Here?

Not long ago I received this email:

Even if the bank had never told me, never under any circumstances, to divulge this kind of information to anyone, there are still some giveaways that it is not from them.

  • It came from "natwest.co.uk" not natwest.com
  • A British company would not spell "centre" like they have

You will probably spot others, I am not that observant:

Be on your guard.

It may be hard to believe, but there are many people in the world whose seared consciences loose no sleep at the thought of bleeding you dry and dancing on your grave.

There would have been a time when geography might have separated you from them. However, in the age of the internet and the bulk email, they have access into the heart of your home.

The challenge in an age of gathering darkness like this one, is to keep love alive and press on to better things.

Put together by someone who is trying to write US-style prose.

An English bank wouldn't talk about 'regular scheduled account verification' and would never, ever, end with an "action line" that ends with an exclamation mark.

Another giveaway is being sent an apparent notice from a bank you don't hold an account with.

I do actually have an account with Natwest. Had it not been for the fact that the email ended up in the junk mail box of an account that is not registered with Natwest, I could have entertained the idea!
