The Volcanos Are Still
Well, so far preparation for the trip to South Sudan is going to plan. Better than that, the volcanos are still.
Still is the literal volcano - Eyjafjallajokull - which means an uninterrupted flight. (Apparently, the ash belching mount is pronounced ay-yah-FYAH’-plah-yer-kuh-duh. I guess you have to Icelandic to see the connection between the "duh" sound and the "kull" spelling on the end!)
Still too, is the political volcano as Kenya's vote on a new constitution appears to be going off peaceably, meaning I should have uncomplicated safe passage through.
And still will be this blog for the next four weeks, even though it celebrates its second birthday this week. Although one must admit, as impact in the blogosphere goes, this web address is less an ay-yah-FYAH-thingamybob and more a 'little splutter of cheek-stinging fat that ambushes you out of the frying pan.'
See you in September, God-willing. :-)
